Here you will find a list of arthritis-friendly exercise, lifestyle and pain management programs. The programs have been reviewed by experts; however, it is always important to speak with your doctor before undertaking any new form of exercise. Programs include both in person and online, so you can stay active, regardless of where you live.
How much exercise should I do?
Safety is important when doing any type of exercise. You should be aware of any physical changes due to your arthritis to minimise the risk of injury. This includes any comorbidities (when you have two or more conditions) which could impact the type of exercises that you can do safely. Talk to a physiotherapist or exercise physiologist who can assess you and recommend exercises appropriate for you. They can build your confidence so you can continue to exercise independently. In general, all Australian adults should aim to do 30 minutes of physical activity most days of the week.
